Event: 2016 LIVESTRONG Challenge Austin
Date: October 16, 2016
About the event:
Join us in celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the LIVESTRONG Challenge Austin. We are offering 20/45/65/100 mile ride distances as well as a 5K run/walk. The event is the only ride in Austin to start and finish downtown. All proceeds benefit the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin.
The LIVESTRONG Foundation is proud to celebrate the LIVESTRONG Challenge Austin in its 20th year! Join us, as well as riders, runners and walkers from around the country, as we come together to celebrate life and fight cancer.
Riders of all levels are invited to participate and can choose to ride one of four courses, from 20-100 miles, while runners and walkers can participate in a separate 5k event. Each cancer survivor receives a yellow rose when they cross the finish line, and friends, family and loved ones are able to ride in memory of those they have lost and in honor of those who are fighting.
After the ride, participants and spectators are invited to join us for the post-event party in the Challenge Village where there will be delicious local food and beer, music, vendors and fun time for all ages.
