The fifth annual SicloVerde is nearly here! SicloVerde is a fundraising
event which benefits community gardens throughout San Antonio. It is also an
opportunity for participants to visit as many as 14 spectacular urban
gardens on a guided tour. You can opt to walk or ride, and bicyclists can
choose from three route lengths(25 miles, 11 miles, 7 miles).
Beginning in 2012 a new way of experiencing San Antonio’s community gardens began: human powered garden tours. What started as a East Side Garden Walk soon morphed into a Green Spaces Alliance annual tradition – SicloVerde!
SicloVerde is a unique tour of San Antonio area community gardens for cyclists and walkers to visit local community gardens on various length rides or a 5K walk through historic downtown neighborhoods. There is a small fee to participate. In addition to the guided tours and question-and-answer opportunities at each garden, participants take part in garden-themed activities, enjoy snacks, opt in for great raffle items, and listen to live music.
