About the Ride: On Saturday, February 4th, 2012 the FIFTH Annual PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS bicycle ride benefiting Ducks Unlimited will start at 7:00 A.M. and it will be bigger, better, and more exciting than ever. There will be 25, 45, 37 and 70 mile routes along with entertaining rest stops, duck calling and dog demonstrations at most stops and new reststop sponsors.  The 2012 PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS ride is destined to be one of the best for the year in Houston.

About the Race:

Ride like a professional! Join us for a fast 100 mile ride around San Antonio’s Loop 1604. Ride is escorted by SAPD motorcycle police. Three SAG vehicles will be on hand to provide nutriition at key points during the ride. Group will stay together as a peloton and ride at 20mph. Duration of the ride is approximately 5 hours. Also included is an event tshirt and post ride pizza party!

About the Ride: This popular event is the perfect opportunity to get some exercise, enjoy the scenery of Fort Bend County, prepare for the MS150 or just spend some quality time having fun with your family, friends and neighbors.  Bike riders return year after to year to enjoy this event, which includes scenic 19, 32 or 59 mile routes in Fort Bend County.  We supply breakfast, snacks, lunch, ride marshals for safety, ample signage to help along the route and a cheering section to greet riders at the finish line!

What is the Literacy Council?
The Literacy Council of Fort Bend County is a non-profit organization established to end inter-generational cycles of illiteracy in Fort Bend County by improving adult literacy skills and generate community-wide literacy awareness. Programs include: Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language classes, GED preparation classes, Badges and Books, Job Readiness and the Literacy Hotline.

Event: 18th Annual Rolling Hills Challenge

Location: Colorado County Beason’s Park on the east bank of the Colorado River.

Entry Fees Per Route:

Pre-registration is $25 per person and includes a T-shirt, if received by Saturday, May 1.  Tandem pre-registration is $45.  T-shirts are not guaranteed for entry forms received after the May 1st deadline.

On the day of the ride, the registration fee is $30 per person and $55 Tandem.

About the Race:

The Rolling Hills Challenge will begin at Colorado County Beason’s Park on the east bank of the Colorado River.

From Houston (traveling west on I-10): Take the 698 exit and follow Hwy. 90 towards Columbus. Beason’s Park will be on your left prior to crossing the Colorado River bridge.

From San Antonio (traveling east on I-10): Take the Columbus 696 exit, turn left under the freeway and go north on Business Hwy 71, veer to the right on Spur 52 to downtown Columbus. Turn right at the red light on to Walnut and continue until you cross the Colorado River bridge. Beason’s Park will be on your right.

From Austin (traveling south on Hwy-71): Take the Columbus Business Hwy 71 exit and turn left under the highway. Follow Business Hwy 71 across the Colorado River into Columbus. Pass under the railroad tracks and turn left at Walnut / Hwy 90 (first red light). Continue east on Walnut and continue until you cross the Colorado River bridge. Beason’s Park will be on your right.

On-site registration will be accepted until 9:00 a.m. Ride will take place rain or shine. Sorry, no refunds.

Stops are available about every 15 miles along the route with refreshments and portable toilets.  Roving vehicles will travel the routes to assist riders, but riders should be equipped to fix flats and do minor repairs.  Emergency medical assistance will be provided by the Colorado County EMS.
