WICHITA FALLS, Texas – (Business Wire) August 28 marks an important day for cyclists, as well as the City of Wichita Falls, when the 29^th Annual Hotter N’ Hell (HH100) begins for more than 15,000 cyclists and teams from across the country. The ride, which is available at 10K, 25-mile, 50-mile, 100K or 100-mile distance, along the plains of Wichita Falls is the largest one-day endurance ride anywhere in the U.S.

“This is one of the most prestigious and challenging rides in America, and I’m proud that it has been here in Wichita Falls for almost three decades,” saidExecutive Director of the HH100 Chip Filer. “The entire city rallies behind the event with more than 4,000 volunteers helping make it the best cycling experience possible for the sport and the city.”

There are two courses.  If dry we will use the longer course which is about a mile and includes a  90° left turn followed by 90° right turn.  The direction will be clockwise.  If the course is wet, we will use the short course which is about 1K.  There are two  90° turns, one 45° and one sweeping turn.

About the Ride: The hosts of the annual Cow Patty Classic Benefit Bike Ride, bring you the HALF CALF Benefit Bike Ride on November 20, 2010. Just like the Cow Patty Classic, this ride will start and end at Vista Ridge High School and follow the same route, only this ride includes only HALF the distance of the Cow Patty Classic. Get it “Half Calf!” Oh dear…how we crack ourselves up!

At this inaugural event, however, we decided to add the 75 mile route back in, just for fun, for those looking for a nice, fully supported ride at a bit of a longer distance. All routes – 25, 50 & 75 mile – feature moderate to intermediate level courses with rolling hills and beautiful scenery.

This is a fully supported ride for riders at any stage of training with multiple rest stops (with snacks & sport drinks), clear directional signage, bicycle mechanics, and medical support. About the Ride : Riders will be started in waves by age/class. First rider starts off at 10:01 am. All riders must be in queue 5 minutes before their start time. Final start times will be published Saturday, 20 November. Racers will start at 30 second intervals.

The start is at the intersection of Babcock Road & Cielo Vista Drive. It is a 7.4 mile course (nine right-hand turns & one left-hand turn) The race route continues down Babcock Road to a right-hand turn on Scenic Loop and then to a right hand turn on Cross Mountain Trail (at 2.2 miles). Cross Mountain Trail segment will be a winding 1.7 miles until a right-hand turn onto Nora Vista Run (at 3.9 miles) immediately followed by a left-hand turn onto Verde River. Continue on Verde River for ½ mile until a right-hand turn onto San Fidel Way where the hill climbing begins w/ an 11% grade. You will continue and climb three (3) more hills during a one-mile stretch to a downhill for a sharp right-hand turn onto Ravine Pass. Continue uphill for .4 miles and finally cresting with a short and biting 18% climb to a right-hand turn onto Rain Valley. Continue on this winding street for .4 miles to a right-hand turn onto Monarch Pass (at 6.2 miles) for .2 miles until a right-hand turn onto Cielo Vista Drive. You will continue down Cielo Vista Drive for ½ mile until a right-turn onto Babcock Road where the finish line will be downhill @ Park Mountain East.
