About the Ride: This year’s Bike the Bend for Literacy ride is scheduled for Sunday, November 21, 2010. The ride will consist of three ride lengths of 19, 32, or 59 miles. All of the routes take place on the scenic roads of Fort Bend County; starting and finishing at Foster High School in Richmond. We invite you to help us change lives through literacy by supporting this year’s event. Please look at the various sponsorship levels on this site. About the Ride : M2M Charity Bike Tour benefits local charities while celebrating the trails of four Spanish Colonial Missions.

M2M Tour routes will be revised in as the Mission Reach South Project extends, upgrades, and relocates hike and bike paths. The Family Route will may include stretches of trafficked city streets. Thanks to San Antonio River Authority, City of San Antonio, and the National Park Service for coordinating construction detours.

Directions from IH-35 (North of Austin) go west on FM 1431, 21 miles to Lago Vista. Go left (south) on Lohman’s Ford Road for 3 miles, then right on Boggy Ford for 2 miles, then left on American Drive to Start/Finish.

Same racing schedule for both days. Saturday’s loop is 5.5 miles; Sunday’s loop is 4.4 miles.

Packet Pickup/Late Registration: Friday 2-6pm Nelo’s Cycles, 8108 Mesa Drive (NEW ADDRESS!), Friday night at Lago Vista near Start/Finish, 8pm to midnight. About the race: Presented by the Texas A&M Cycling Team

USAC Permit Applied, Texas Cup Division Regional (East)

Course – 14 mile, low traffic, counter-clockwise loop consisting of good roads, “textured” roads, and dirt roads. There are some rollers and a decent finishing hill.
The dirt section tends only to be a pinch-flat threat, but you may want to leave your carbon race wheels at home for this one.

Directions: Water Works Park 2400 Long Road Denton, Texas, From I35, take exit #470/ TX 288 Loop. Head east on 288 for about 3.5 miles. Take the Denton/Aubrey exit. Turn left on FM 428 for .4 miles.  The Water Works Park and CH Collins Complex is on your left. Park. Take your bike off the rack. Get your race on.

Other Information:  Online registration is available at www.bikereg.com, Pre-registration closes on Friday, March 5 at 11:59pm (12:59am EST). Registration Race Day: Registration closes 30 minutes prior to each event.  $30 registration on race day. $10 one day license available for Category 5 Men and Category 4 Women racers. All USAC rules are in effect. Racers must wear a Z90.4 or Snell approved helmet anytime they are on a bicycle.  Junior Rollout for to be conducted 10 minutes prior to start. Riders deemed out of contention by the Chief Referee may be pulled.  Additional races are $5 each. All races are long enough to meet at least the minimum for upgrade purposes. A small fee will be applied by Bikereg when preregistering. Free lap rule in effect. Wheels in/ Wheels out.

Unclaimed prizes are considered a donation to our junior program.
