Event: Wedu Texas Hundred
Route Distances: 20 and 100 miles
About the Ride:
The 100-mile ride starts at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, less than an hour outside Austin. Riders will head west around Lake Buchanan and into the northern reaches of Texas Hill Country, then wind around Cherokee and towards the lush river valley of Colorado Bend State Park. The course then heads back into Burnet County and the Lake Buchanan area.
Multiple false-flat roads and long, rolling hills will challenge you, but you’ll be rewarded with several fast and fun descents. On-course support includes an aid station every 20 miles and roving Mellow Johnny’s mechanics. There is an optional (key word “optional” 4 mile stretch of dirt/gravel near the finish for those looking for a bit more adventure and challenge.
WEDU SPORT is a concept founded by Lance Armstrong focused on celebrating and advocating endurance, ultra, and off the grid human challenges. These can come in the form of 24 hour races, Spartan events, Ultra Marathon rides, gravel and trail running/riding, or anything you can dream up to challenge, punish, baffle, and ultimately empower us. When an effort makes you suffer in solitude so much that people ask, “Who wants to do that?” We say, “We do.”
